Being a researcher and historian is more of a passion than an occupation. To begin with, one could easily starve trying to live on royalty checks and honorariums! But those of us who have been bitten by the history bug are nourished by new discovery, which often times is slow in coming. Like some wise prophet once said, “the truth is always slow, lagging behind on the arm of time.” Thus, when a discovery is made I often feel compelled to share it in the form of an article, in part because books take too long to write.
